Goals and Achievements

I want to use my life for purposes. There are many things in life I would love to do, some of them realistic, and some of them not.

Right now I’m working on a goal that quite frankly I have no clue if it’s realistic or not. I am a pianist. I was quite good, and still am quite good, only now I have a timer in my arms, by way of lipoma cysts, nerve damage, and scar tissue. It means I can no longer play or practice for more than a certain amount of time before I’m in too much pain to continue, and it means my fingers can’t physically move as fast as they could.

But pain or shine, here’s my goal: at some point in my life I’d like to have learned the ENTIRE Well-Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach.

I’ve already mastered:

Prelude No. 1 in C Major; Prelude No. 2 in C Minor; Fugue No. 2 in C Minor; Prelude No 15 in G Major; Fugue No. 7 in E-flat Major; Prelude No. 5 in D Major;  Fugue No. 5 in D Major.

And right now I’m working in Fugue No. 1 in C Major. Wish me luck!

  1. Life can be “funny” that way. We are sometimes allowed to accomplish what we want and other times the Lord has us move in His better direction. I say this because there is pain in surrender, too. But I do wish you blessing in learning Bach- a worthy goal, for certain! Love you, Grace.
